Cool & Easy Project! (5 star review)
Just look above for the image of the red bench. That's the bench I made with this kit. The color is called "Mickey's Pants". Very red, very bright!
The bench was an easy project. Just measure, cut, paint, and screw!
The instructions were easy to follow. If you look on the 2x4 Basics website, you can find the template to make the rounded corners.

Great Idea/kit (5 star review)
I was looking to buy just an old fashion picnic table when I saw this kit. I like doing projects so it looked great..As soon as I received the kit I ordered the lumber and in a little over an hour I had the first bench done. I opted to make it 8 feet long so doing the table took a little longer but it came out GREAT and no one could believe that I made it by myself. I added a chair to each end and was able to have enough room for 11 people. It's solid and looks good. (Now I just have to figure what color I am going to stain it).. Once again this was a great project and I am very pleased. I don't like to read instructions so the pictured instructions on the box was perfect for me. Colleen
2x4basics Picnic Table Kit, Sand, 17310 (5 star review)
This is just what I was looking for to put on my deck. I bought the wood necessary for the table and benches and it was very convenient to put together. However, there was one problem I have, maybe two. The instructions called for spacing the boards 1/4 inch apart on the table requiring new holes in the plastic. The predrilled hows would not line up with the wood with the 1/4 inch spacing/ I had to go back and remove each board after drilling holes and reduce the spacing. There was too much over hang for the last board on each side of the table top. Another problem I see is with the material the screws are made of and whether or not the treated lumber I bought will corrode the screws or not. Only time will tell.

misreprenresented (1 star review)
The item I purchased was misrepresented. I thought I was a whole table. I wouls send it back if I could but it will cost me more in shipping than its worth. If this is not corrected I will close my account. You have checked my credit and it is outstanding and I will buy from another consumer and I always pay on time. Wouldn't buy it again. (2 star review)
This kit is horrible - when compared to other kits. With the standard kit you get 5 boards - 3 for the table and 2 for the bench seats. For this table and two benches you need to mess around with 20 boards! Clean 20 boards. Stain/paint 20 boards. Align 20 boards. And cut 4 boards to a different length then the rest. And trying to get 20 good 2x4s that are perfectly straight is a futile effort. I think the table does look nicer, but it is not worth the hassle and work compared to other picnic table kits. The reason I bought this kit was for the resin frame. The picnic table this is replacing is the standard 5 boards with the metal frame, but after around 20 years the frame has become weak and you can no longer sit on it. Otherwise the wood is still good. I guess I don't see any reason why one couldn't use a wider board with this resin frame kit - just have to measure to make sure they fit properly. If I had to do it over I would just buy the 5 board kit again. I received 2 different types of screws with this kit - one kind for the table and a different kind (regular deck screws) for the benches. You would think they would be the same, wouldn't you? I put my parent's picnic table together when I was a kid (standard 5 boards with a metal frame) and didn't have the problems I had with this setup. Messing around with all of the 2x4s just isn't worth it.
Update - a couple of more things. The deck screws that come with the bench are 2", so if you don't drive them at an angle you may come out the wood on the other side. The diagram directions do show the screws going in at a angle, but there are no written directions with the benches (the table has written directions and no diagram directions) so I just wanted to point this out so others don't put them straight through. I did not have a problem since I put them in at an angle. Also - shame on you Amazon for putting the shipping labels directly over the diagram directions - on both packages! Couldn't remove the shipping labels without tearing the diagram directions. And think about the longterm - when it comes time to re-paint/stain you are either going to have to skip doing it inbetween the boards or you are going to have to remove them. I would never buy this kit again and wish I hadn't.

Picnic Tabel System (4 star review)
I picked up the lumber at my local Home Depot, and in a matter of two hours or so, I had a very sturdy picnic table and two benches. This this is heavy duty, and withstands eight adults drinking, feasting, laughing, moving all over the benches, leaning on the table, and no problems or issues at all. It's a great idea, great item. Buy it.
