Easy As 1-2-3 (5 star review)
I was a bit wary after reading some of the reviews here, but decided to treat them like movie reviews and tried it myself.
This product was sooooo easy to use. I installed the software on my HP laptop in no time, and designed five labels.
I printed them, used the stomper and voila - even a child could do it.
The only drawback is you have to be careful when you reposition the text boxes. I printed one or two labels where the words ran off onto the waste section, but otherwise it was great. A steal at the price, really!

Been Using CD Stomper for years (5 star review)
Made in the USA CD Stomper has made my labeling seamless and exact every time. It is much more than just the stomping device its self, the software and label design adds a professional look to the finished product. You can store favorite themes and layouts. The labels are very economic for their purpose. Once in a while I would find a typo and as long as the label was not rubbed in too well it could be pealed and replaced. The accompanying jewel box labels are all designed for the standard size and do not work well with the slimmer jewel boxes.
I am so enamored of this device that I doubt I could ever use any competing brands.

Been Using CD Stomper for years (5 star review)
CD labeling is not high-tech, but I've used several and CD Stomper wins in my book. The applicator has heft and weight. It isn't {inexpensive}plastic. More importantly, the software is extremely easy to use, and includes settings for major printers and a huge variety of brands of labels.

BUYER BEWARE (1 star review)
BUYER BEWARE, TOTAL RIPOFF!
Software doesn't load, customer service is useless, labels are garbage.
I don't often have the time to leave reviews, but made sure on this one as it is a ripoff, shame on you Avery!

Software is horrible (1 star review)
I was mostly interested in the stomper when making this purchase, the template software was secondary. I am fairly fluent in using different types of software in the normal course of my business, (MS Publisher, Adobe Photoshop). Just trying to insert a picture file required many steps and was extrememly awkward to use.
Additionally I had problems with the printing lining up on the label sheet. I would print on plain paper first, hold the page up to the light with the label page and all would be good. Then I would run a sheet with the labels and it would be off by 1/2". I have no idea why this would occur.

Clunky Software, Label sheets are cheap (1 star review)
I am not happy with this product at all. All of this was done on a Lenovo T60 Thinkpad with Intel Core Duo and ATI mobile graphics...
Pros: Help Menu is written well, cuts down on learning curve. Only takes a half hour to figure out how to create a black and white text-only label.
Cons: Labels feel cheap. Overperforated in the center. No instructions come in the box other than installing software.
Can't print two blanks per sheet in one pass. When I ask the program to print two copies, It will use two sheets, and only print on one blank per sheet!
The software is abyssmal.
It's ugly. Looks like something a 10 year old would make on their first Visual Basic project.
Up to three second delay between typing on the keyboard and it showing up in the text box on the screen. This makes it difficult to quickly do any project. If you type past the text box window, no scroll bar shows up (even though it will show on your CD label) and you can't see what you're doing.
It takes 15-50 seconds after hitting "print" for the system to "process" the print job (indicated by a status bar onscreen). This is a B&W label, mind you!
Hard to make changes to anything. Color, opacity, texture are each in collapsible submenus which can only be opened one at a time. Font size, type, etc is a floating toolbar that is VERY TINY. There is a lag when you try to open a drop down menu (I just want to change the font size fellas!) Program tries to create a photoshop-esque "layer" system with the elements you create, but it doesn't work. For example, I wanted to change the text in one of the text fields I made at the beginning of the project, so I clicked on it, and the text I wanted to change opened in the collapsible menu. But when I changed the text, ALL of my text elements changed to what I typed in! WTF?
At this point, I figure you've stopped reading this. I don't have a better recommendation for you, but certainly don't buy this.
